Her technical expertise includes computer-implemented inventions, particularly artificial intelligence and its mathematical foundations, as well as communications and information technologies, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, medical technology, optics, and laser, nuclear and particle physics.
Dr Honecker studied physics and subsequently obtained her doctorate from the University of Bonn in high-energy physics, particle physics and mathematical physics. Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz conferred the title of Junior Professor on her.
